Plan the site before you build it.

Goals, sitemap, conversion paths, and a measurement plan defined before anyone touches design.

01The problem

Most sites are built without a plan.

Teams jump straight to picking a template and arguing about colors. Nobody has decided what the site is supposed to do, which pages carry the business, or how a visitor gets from landing page to booked call. So the build wanders, the pages multiply, and the result looks polished but sells nothing.

Skipping strategy is exactly why redesigns fail the same way twice. Without an agreed sitemap, defined conversion paths, and a measurement plan up front, you cannot brief design on what to accomplish, and you cannot prove afterward whether it worked. You just have a newer version of the old problem.

02Why it matters

Why a plan pays for itself.

  1. A defined target

You begin the build knowing what the site must do and which pages carry the weight, so design and development have a brief instead of an opinion.

  2. Conversion paths, mapped

We chart how a visitor moves from entry to action, so the architecture pushes people toward the call, form, or purchase, not in circles.

  3. Measurable from day one

A GA4 measurement plan defines success before launch, so you can prove whether the new site outperforms the old one.

  4. No mid-build rework

Decisions get made on paper, where a change costs an email, instead of mid-development, where it costs the budget.

03How we do it

How we plan a site that performs.

A repeatable process, run by the same in-house team from kickoff to launch.

  1. Step 01

    Discover

We interview your team and study your customers and competitors, so we understand the job the site has to do and who it is for.

  2. Step 02

    Architect

We build the sitemap, information architecture, and conversion paths, defining every page and how visitors flow toward the primary action.

  3. Step 03

    Instrument

We write the measurement plan, defining the events, goals, and metrics that prove success, so the site launches ready to be judged on results.

04What you get

What you get.

  • 01

    Sitemap and page plan

A full map of the site's pages and information architecture, ready to hand straight to design and development.

  • 02

    Conversion path plan

The routes visitors take to convert, with the primary action and supporting content defined for every key page.

  • 03

    Measurement plan

The GA4 goals, events, and tracking spec that define success, so results are provable the day you launch.

06Questions

Strategy questions worth a straight answer.

What is website strategy and why does it come before design?

Website strategy defines the goals, sitemap, conversion paths, and measurement plan before any design starts. It matters because design without a plan is decoration. When strategy comes first, every design and development decision has a reason and the finished site does a job you can measure.

Can you plan a site I will build somewhere else?

Yes. The strategy and plan is a standalone project. You receive the sitemap, conversion paths, and measurement plan as a blueprint any competent designer or developer can build from, though most clients have us carry it through to design and development.

How long does the strategy phase take and what does it cost?

Usually one to two weeks, depending on the size of the site and how fast we can meet with your team. It is a small, fixed investment that routinely saves far more than it costs by preventing rework once the build begins.
